Monitoring Environmental Conditions in Greenhouse

Monitoring Greenhouses can be tricky, as our customer Gebrüder Schulze Heilig GmbH & Co. KG is a producer of high-quality fresh fruits in Germany realised. They have two large greenhouses next to the fields in order to keep manufacturing & store the plants during cold winters. Monitoring of temperature is essential to ensure optimum atmosphere needed for plants.

Doing this manually was too costly and time consuming. Customer was searching a solution which could be installed very easily and avoided cablings in an environment where goods are shifted around frequently. Additionally, remote connectivity was essential, since no wired connection at Greenhouse is available for data transfer.

E-Senza was the only supplier that could fulfill this unique challenge of wireless monitoring, coupled with wireless remote connectivity via GPRS. SenzaBlocks are used in combination with a GPRS – SenzaGate to collect data in pre-set intervals and transmit them to a remote server in the company’s headquarter, where our monitoring software SenzaWMS stores them and provides visualization and alarming functions.

The system ensures immediate response to any changes in the controlled parameters. The whole network is flexible and extendable, if new measuring points are required. In future, the system will be expanded to include measurements of soil moisture in open field to monitor soil conditions vital for the optimum growth of plants.
