Quick Backend Integration using SQL

Quite often, our customers have put a lot of effort into establishing highly sophisticated data-processing tools, databases and systems themselves and expanding data-acquisition capabilities through wireless networks is expected to further enhance those applications, but not to bring in further complexity or re-invent what was already established before.

In such a situation, the SenzaWMS application can be used in a specifically smart way: Use it for managing the wireless network itself and optionally the devices connected to it, but let it deliver data directly into your existing applications.

SQL database
The SenzaWMS stores all data collected over wireless sensor network in an SQL database. Typical installation of SenzaWMS uses PostgresSQL as SQL Database system though on user demand it could be MySQL or any other database also.

User is provided with a View to the Database so that he can fetch sensor readings for his own further processing. A View also ensures that all sensor data are protected from tempering or accidental damage, which could be vital in monitoring and predictive maintenance applications.

The ODBC (“Open DataBase Connectivity”) application interfacing standard was developed by Microsoft and is widely adopted. Using applications like Microsoft-Excel or –Access, one can simply identify SenzaWMS as another datasource among others already used and seamlessly read data from it after setting it up once.  As a result, existing investments in data processing software and systems are protected, and customers can integrate SenzaNET into their existing environment in a non-disruptive and harmonious manner.
